THE AREA
When one imagines Andalucia, certain images are conjured up. Stunning beaches, cork tree forests, majestic sierras, enviable amounts of sunshine…
Historically, the Phoenicians were the first colonizers from an identifiable civilization to inhabit this area around 1100BC. Henceforth, it has been fought over by such great empires as the Carthaginians, the Romans and the Moors, all of whom have left their indelible mark.
Certain cultural elements in Andalucia have cultivated world renown: Flamenco, Wine, Tapas, Bulls, Horses. Very diverse traditions, each with a wealth of history and culture which when combined, culminate in annual celebrations called Ferias.
However, Andalucia has much more to offer… be you a keen ornithologist or an extreme kitesurfer, an aspiring golfer or an artist, there is something here for everyone. It is the diversity of this region which makes it so enticing to the outsider.
