Jerez Feria
The most famous feria in the Province outshines them all!
The Jerez Feria took place this year from the 27th of April to the 4th of May. In contrast to the Seville Feria, the sun shone constantly throughout the weeks revelry. Aptly named "The Horse Feria", the equine beauties were about in their hundreds, drawing all shapes and sizes of carriage filled with happy "feriantes" (feria-goers) brandishing glasses of Fino and plates of jamon. 
The first feeling that greeted us when entering the feria ground was the busyness of the whole affair. Every caseta that we passed had flamenco music echoing out from the dance floors, all we could see were the colours of the flamenco dresses and the finely adorned horses and carriages criss-crossing the dusty streets, and as for the smells, it was hard to distinguish the cocktail of sherry, horse leather, grilled fish and cigars, all there in abundance!!! It was easy to see that the locals had been waiting all year for this special event, and that every moment was to be savoured. If there is one event you should see in Cadiz's festival year, it is the Jerez Feria!
